About

Ensemble Lumaka is a Dutch chamber music ensemble from Amsterdam, founded by flautist Jana Machalett, violist Martina Forni and harpist Miriam Overlach while they were students at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Now active for more than twenty years, the ensemble has won prizes including the International Chamber Music Competition Almere and Het Debuut. Lumaka specialises in the unusual combination of flute, harp and strings, focusing on chamber repertoire from the interwar period, and its members also perform with leading ensembles such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
