Deva Premal (born Jolantha Fries, 1970 in Nuremberg) is a German singer who gained worldwide recognition for her renditions of Sanskrit mantras. Together with her life partner Miten, she has toured Europe, North America and Asia for over three decades, blending new age and world music into a meditative concert experience. Her debut album The Essence (1998) became an international success, and her 2018 album Deva earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Age Album. With more than 1.5 million albums sold and over a million monthly Spotify listeners, she is one of the most-streamed artists in her genre.
