Demon is an English heavy metal and hard rock band from Leek, Staffordshire, formed in 1979 by vocalist Dave Hill and guitarist Mal Spooner. They debuted in 1980 with the single "Liar" and stood out within the New Wave of British Heavy Metal for blending raw energy with melodic and later progressive rock elements. After Spooner's death in 1984, Hill kept the band going.
