Bart Horvers

About

Bart Horvers is a Dutch field researcher and nature photographer from the Tilburg region, specialising in myxomycetes (slime moulds) and coniocarps. A founding member of the fungi and lichen working group of KNNV Tilburg, he intensified his focus on slime moulds after 2016 - organisms that sit taxonomically between fungi and amoebae. In July 2021 he discovered three species new to the Netherlands in the forests around Oisterwijk and Tilburg. Together with Klaas van Dort he co-authored the bilingual reference work 'Coniocarpen, regenschaduwspecialisten' (2022), which attracted international attention.
