Barry Ashworth

About

Barry Ashworth is the founder and frontman of London-based Dub Pistols, a band he started with Jason O'Bryan in 1996 out of the mid-nineties big beat scene. Over ten albums the group has built a reputation for genre-blending live shows that draw on dub, ska, hip-hop, jungle and punk, with collaborators ranging from Terry Hall and Gregory Isaacs to Busta Rhymes and Horace Andy. Ashworth also has a long parallel career as a DJ and runs the band's own Mucky Weekender festival.
