Ásgeir
Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir performs his folk and indie rock material in an intimate concert setting.
Ásgeir Trausti Einarsson (Iceland, 1992) is a singer-songwriter whose folk-rooted sound is threaded through with understated electronics. His debut album Dýrð í dauðaþögn (2012) became the best-selling debut in Icelandic history, and the English-language version In the Silence (2014), co-written with John Grant, launched him internationally. His fifth album Julia (2026) marks a new step: for the first time, he wrote all the lyrics himself.
Ásgeir released his fifth studio album Julia on February 13, 2026 via One Little Independent Records - his first album with entirely self-written lyrics.
The single 'Against the Current' was released in January 2026 and was named by NPR's All Songs Considered as one of the best albums of 2026 so far.
Ásgeir is performing a series of European shows in September 2026, including a performance at De Oosterpoort in Groningen on September 10.
The first single from Julia, 'Ferris Wheel', was released in September 2025 and announced a new, more personal direction.
In autumn 2025, Ásgeir toured as a special guest with Eivør across Europe, with performances in Gothenburg and Copenhagen, among others.
