Icelandic indie-folk artist Axel Flóvent performs in Deventer with support from Tjels, blending Nordic melancholy and ambient soundscapes.
Axel Flóvent is an Icelandic indie-folk singer-songwriter from Húsavík, a small fishing town on Iceland's north coast. His 2016 debut EP Forest Fires yielded the breakout title track, now past 90 million streams, and led to a deal with Epic Amsterdam. After living in Amsterdam, Brighton and Reykjavík, he returned to Húsavík and in 2026 released Fleeing the Shore, his first fully self-produced EP. His quietly melancholic folk, often compared to Bon Iver and Adrianne Lenker, has earned him an international following across two albums and several EPs.
Axel Flóvent released his EP Fleeing the Shore on April 24, 2026 - his first fully self-produced work, mixed by Philip Weinrobe.
The single 'In The Grass' appeared on January 30, 2026 as the second preview of the EP Fleeing the Shore.
On December 19, 2025, Axel Flóvent released the single 'Nowhere', marking the beginning of a new creative phase.
His second studio album Away From This Dream was released in June 2024, preceded by the singles 'When the Sun Goes Down' and 'Asymmetry' (late 2023).
Axel Flóvent announces a European and British tour for October and November 2026.
