13 Ensemble is a thirteen-piece collective led by trumpeter, composer and conductor Ester F. Mata. The group blends hypnotic minimalism with a chord-free approach, with musicians responding in real time to each other's cues and to electronic elements such as spoken word and everyday sounds. Their debut album *Traffic Is the New Silence* is set for release on Honolulu Records in 2025.
