The Allard Pierson is the archaeological museum of the University of Amsterdam, with one of the largest collections of Greek, Egyptian and Near Eastern antiquities in the Netherlands. The nineteenth-century building on the Oude Turfmarkt originally served as a bank. Alongside its permanent collection, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions and lectures throughout the year.
