The annual Zuiderparkzomerconcert brings the Residentie Orkest to Zuiderpark in The Hague. Young British conductor Kerem Hasan leads the orchestra.

The programme opens with Weber's overture from the opera Euryanthe, followed by Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony - a work that begins in a somber register, moves through dancing middle sections, and culminates in a glorious finale.

The concert is part of Symphony 2030 - RO in de Wijk, an initiative through which the Residentie Orkest connects neighbourhood residents and the city.

About: Residentie Orkest

The Residentie Orkest is The Hague's symphony orchestra, founded in 1904. It performs regularly at the Koninklijke Schouwburg and the Zuiderstrandtheater, and also takes its music into the city's neighbourhoods. With a repertoire spanning baroque to contemporary, it is one of the established orchestras in Dutch classical music.
