Huun Huur Tu is a music group from the Republic of Tuva in Siberia, celebrated for their mastery of overtone throat singing (khoomei). Formed in the early 1990s, they blend traditional Central Asian instruments and vocal styles with contemporary influences, and have toured internationally for decades. Their sound draws directly from the nomadic traditions of the Tuvan steppe.
