Van Die Mensen - Grab 'n Go

Pamela has found her ideal place: the Grab-n-Go, a small shop at a petrol station. Stocking shelves, mopping floors, encouraged by singing shop products - that's all she needs. But her paradise is under threat as LED screens and self-checkout tills arrive.

Pamela refuses to budge, right up to her last day of work - when the hip biker chick Pim tries to drag her into the rebranding. The performance follows two people with opposite views on change: one clinging to what she knows, the other never still long enough to put down roots anywhere.

Grab-n-Go is a music theatre performance about a person who prefers to keep her distance from a world that never stops rushing. Pamela's initially peaceful inner world - with her singing shop products, performed by a three-piece folk band - escalates into a manic techno invasion that ends in the ashes of the Grab-n-Go.

Van Die Mensen (formerly Oopsie Daisy) is a young theatre collective by Andrea Vass, Paulien Foest and Sasha Kurensky. They won the Audience Prize at Werkplaats Walhalla Pitch 2025 and made their debut in 2025 with Broadway Baby at the Café Theater Festival, where they also won the Rotterdam audience prize.
