Van Die Mensen - Grab 'n Go (try-out)

Pamela has found her ideal place: the Grab-n-Go, a convenience store at a petrol station. She endlessly stocks shelves, mops floors, and is encouraged by singing shop products. But her paradise is at stake as LED screens and self-checkout tills arrive.

Pamela refuses to accept that there's no longer a place for her. Until her last day of work, when motorchick Pim tries to bring her along in the rebranding. The performance follows two people with opposite views on change: one clinging to what she knows, the other never still long enough to put down roots.

Grab-n-Go is a music theatre performance about a person who prefers to keep her distance from a world that never stops rushing. Pamela's initially peaceful inner world - with her singing shop products, performed by a three-piece folk band - escalates into a manic techno invasion that ends in the ashes of the Grab-n-Go.

Van Die Mensen (formerly Oopsie Daisy) is a young theatre collective by Andrea Vass, Paulien Foest and Sasha Kurensky. They won the Audience Prize at Werkplaats Walhalla Pitch 2025 and made their debut in 2025 with Broadway Baby at the Café Theater Festival, where they also won the Rotterdam audience prize.
