The Guardian described Oded Tzur's sound as a 'unique whisper on the tenor saxophone'. His music is deeply rooted in the centuries-old tradition of Indian classical music, yet the jazz sound he creates with it is entirely contemporary. He has been compared more than once to John Coltrane for his deep tone and fascination with Indian ragas - a connection he pursues in his own way through jazz and blues.

The New Yorker has recorded multiple albums for the renowned ECM Records label. His latest album, In the Arms of a True Believer, was released on his own record label. At Paradox he performs work from that album with his quartet.

Downbeat called him 'A Volcano on the Ocean Floor'.
