Battleship Potemkin + live soundtrack by Hiverne

Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin (1925) is considered one of the most influential films ever made. Originally intended as Soviet propaganda, it tells the story of the mutiny aboard the Russian battleship Potemkin. With its innovative editing, dynamic cinematography and iconic imagery - including the famous Odessa Steps sequence - Eisenstein transformed the language of film forever.

More than a century later, the Roman band Hiverne performs a specially composed live soundtrack. The quartet works at the intersection of IDM, glitch and indietronica, but realizes electronic sound entirely with traditional instruments: bass, guitar, keyboards and acoustic drums.

The soundtrack was written by Hiverne specifically for this film. Eisenstein's visual language collides with rhythmic complexity and the physical energy of a live band.
