Masamuda - Archaeological Site — Masamuda, Vlaardingen

Masamuda is an educational archaeological site in the Vlaardingen Broekpolder, featuring reconstructed buildings from prehistoric and medieval times. The grounds are arranged in the style of those periods. From the Neolithic era stands the Vlaardingen Culture House; in the middle of the site you'll find the Rotta House and the Spijkenisse Farm, both from the Middle Ages. The name Masamuda refers to the ancient Meuse estuary region and was already used in the 8th century.

Masamuda is open every Sunday from 12:00 to 16:00. Groups can make an appointment. If volunteers are working outside opening hours, visits are sometimes possible. The site is located in the Broekpolder, right next to the Klauterwoud.
