Dennis Kivit
In this musical storytelling concert, singer and songwriter Dennis 'Denisius' Kivit takes the audience on a journey through the history of pop music, returning to the 1960s - his own birth decade. He accompanies himself on piano and guitar.
The repertoire draws from The Summer of Love: San Francisco, Our House, Can't Help Falling in Love, Brown Eyed Girl, What A Wonderful World and All You Need Is Love. The programme features songs by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis, Sinatra and singer-songwriters such as James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Closer to home, Jacques Brel's Amsterdam and Herman van Veen's Suzanne are included, alongside Dutch-language songs by Denisius himself.
Kivit previously sang in Les Misérables and Montezuma's Revenge and performed his show Zing The Beatles! at venues including De Kleine Komedie. The programme combines songs with stories and personal encounters.
