During a Hart voor Humor try-out, four to eight comedians take the stage with brand-new material, all working towards their own full show. A presenter keeps the evening together - smoothly or not. No two evenings are the same: it can be early first attempts or already more developed jokes.

Whoever buys a ticket agrees to Hart voor Humor's five golden rules:

1. Humor is daring to try. Only when you say it out loud do you know if it works - and sometimes it doesn't, and that's part of it.
2. Humor and satire should be free, without censorship, so that freedom of expression is guaranteed.
3. A comedian's personal views don't matter, as long as they try to make it funny. Differences are a source of humor at Hart voor Humor, not a reason for hate.
4. Every comedian speaks for themselves and does not represent Hart voor Humor's position as an organization.
5. No filming or audio recordings during the performance. What happens on stage stays on stage.
