About: Cello Octet Amsterdam

Eight cellists, no conductor, and a track record that spans bespoke commissions from Arvo Pärt and Philip Glass to full-blown theatrical rock shows. Founded in 1989, the Amsterdam-based octet remains one of a kind - Pärt himself remarked after hearing his first piece for them that he had discovered the ensemble ten years too late.
