Plastic Starts on Your Doorstep

On Friday, 18 September 2026, climate mayor Jannie Meeuwisse and Vrouwen van Nu organize various activities in the municipality of Moerdijk, in connection with World Cleanup Day (20 September). The campaign "Plastic Starts on Your Doorstep" takes centre stage, focusing on plastic waste and a clean living environment.

Residents and schoolchildren help clean up litter that day and learn how waste on the street eventually ends up in the sea. In various residential areas, paving stones are placed with the text: "The sea begins here. Don't throw anything in the street."

The drop-in starts at 09:30; alderman Bennie Blom opens the day at 10:00. The programme runs until 17:00. You can drop in at any time that suits you.
