UP: BRECHTJE + Maresa

BRECHTJE is a singer, producer and interdisciplinary artist from Groningen. She creates electronic indie with trance influences - sometimes acoustic - where sadness, longing, fear and hope coexist.

For her there is a direct connection between sound and image: a sound can say as much as a melody, a colour can feel like a chord. This way of seeing is reflected in her music and visible in her work as a live painter at Madame & Madame. Live, she invites her audience into a dreamy, pulsing world where every emotion is welcome.

Maresa is an emerging artist, also from Groningen. Her indie bedroom pop feels like a late-night conversation where things are said that remain unspoken during the day - about friendship, love, heartbreak and the quiet chaos of growing up.
