exhibition culture

Museum Kranenburgh in Bergen presents an exhibition dedicated to the work of Bernard Essers (ID/NL 1893-1945), an artist whose oeuvre has received little recognition to date.

About the venue: Museum Kranenburgh

Museum Kranenburgh in Bergen (Noord-Holland) focuses on the Bergen School, an early-twentieth-century painting movement known for its expressive use of colour and close ties to the North Holland landscape. The collection features work by artists such as Charley Toorop, Leo Gestel and Jan Sluijters, shown alongside changing temporary exhibitions. The museum is housed in a former villa that suits the intimate scale of the work.
