De Staat - DE STAAT | Deep Listening Session

During the Haarlem Vinyl Festival, Pitchblack Playback, in collaboration with FFF Sound System and Koda, organizes four deep listening sessions at Teylers Museum. The concept: you listen to a complete album from start to finish in a pitch-dark room - phone away, eyes closed.

On Saturday, October 3 (10:00 - 12:00), the focus is on De Staat's debut album: 'DE STAAT'. After two years away, the band returned with this album about power, manipulation, misinformation, and the blurring boundary between reality and fiction. Industrial grooves, heavy riffs, experimental electronics, and pop sensibility come together on a record of 37:21. The album is played in its entirety - this is a listening session, not a concert. The band is not present.

The sound comes via the FFF Sound System, a high-fidelity four-way horn system from Rotterdam, designed and built by Form Follows Frequency. The system is tuned to the acoustics of the space in Teylers Museum - the oldest museum in the Netherlands, opened in 1784.

The ticket includes an eye mask made of recycled cotton and access to the museum. Note: doors close at the start of the event. Latecomers will not be admitted.
