Grandchildren of the East — De Cacaofabriek, Helmond

Filmmaker Daan van Citters (30) and actor Joenoes Polnaya (32) met on the set of the feature film De Oost. In Grandchildren of the East, they travel together to Indonesia in search of the story of their grandfathers - two men who fought on behalf of the Netherlands against Indonesian independence, "on the wrong side of history".

Along the way, they confront a hidden colonial past and the question of what "right and wrong" actually means.
