Bokkeryers
Bokkeryers performs on 10 September at Muziekgieterij. The project was founded by Pablo van de Poel (DeWolff), his ten-years-younger brother Vince, and Jordan Faber - the idea emerged over a meal at Gasterie de Bokkeryer in Sweikhuizen. Their driving question: why doesn't a Limburgish-language metal band exist yet to tell the stories of 18th-century bandits who flew through the South Limburgish night on goats?
Musically, this has little to do with DeWolff. Bokkeryers plays hard-hitting doom, sludge and thrash, with Limburgish lyrics full of punk attitude, humour and self-mockery. The ritual oaths, the gallows, the wheel, the surgeons and flayers who met their gruesome end - everything gets its fitting riffs and thundering rhythms. Possibly also a collaboration with Limburgish carnival queen Beppie Kraft. Bring earplugs.
Support: GRIT GRIT, a death metal band with old-school influences, heavy guitar riffs, hard drums and vocals reminiscent of Corpsegrinder.
