Taste Acoustic: Des Fais Do-Do (Cajun)

Des Fais Do-Do is a folk-music-oriented band from eastern Netherlands, consisting of six musicians who have been active in various bands since the early 1970s. The line-up features cajun accordion, accordion, violin, mandolin, banjo, acoustic guitar, bass and a wide range of percussion (tit fer, spoons, washboard, small drum kit, cajon) - an instrumentation suited to Cajun and related roots music styles, nowadays also called Americana.

The band has been performing since the early 1990s and has appeared on national and international stages and festivals, including the Cajun & Zydeco Festival in Raamsdonksveer (ended in 2019), Brielle Blues and Breda Jazz Festival. Three albums - two studio albums and one live album - were well received. In 2004, Des Fais Do-Do received the first European award for best Cajun & Zydeco band; in 2005 they were honoured again, this time as best Cajun band.
