Connie Palmen

Connie Palmen visits Porgy en Bess in Terneuzen for a literary evening about her new novel Johnnie Walker, exploring themes of love, addiction, memory and identity.

Palmen has won numerous awards for novels including De wetten, De vriendschap, I.M., Lucifer and Jij zegt het, among them the AKO Literature Prize, the Libris Literature Prize and the Trouw Audience Prize. In 2026, her complete body of work was honoured with the Constantijn Huygens Prize.

During the conversation, Johnnie Walker, her writing and broader themes in her work will be discussed. The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions, and afterwards there will be time for book signings.
