Directed by Nick Mead, Andre Relis / USA 2025 / documentary, music / 102 min.

In 2026, it will be fifty years since The Sex Pistols released their debut single, Anarchy in the UK. This documentary tells the story of the band's formation from the perspective of Glen Matlock, the original bassist - offering a surprisingly intimate portrait of the punk revolution. Matlock emerges as a gentle storyteller, far removed from the band's rough image, which immediately explains why he soon clashed with Johnny Rotten.

Based on Matlock's book of the same name, the film follows the band from their first single through the release of Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols - their debut album that faced immediate censorship and boycott campaigns, and is now considered one of the most influential albums in pop history. Through archival footage and interviews, Matlock's surprisingly significant role in the band's success becomes clear, before he left after the debut album.
