Angela (Olivia Wilde) and Joe (Seth Rogen)'s marriage has settled into routine and neurotic bickering. Their eccentric upstairs neighbours Hawk (Edward Norton) and Pina (Penélope Cruz) prove to be particularly active at night - much to Joe's annoyance. When Angela invites them over for dinner, Joe sees it as his chance to confront them. What follows is an evening full of unexpected twists.

Director and actress Olivia Wilde (Booksmart, Don't Worry Darling) created this comedy with screenwriters Will McCormack and Rashida Jones, based on the Spanish film Sentimental. The Invite is a portrait of sex, relationships and marriage that keeps the viewer constantly off balance. The film received enthusiastic acclaim at its world premiere at Sundance.
