Widowspeak (USA - Captured Tracks) + John Andrews & the Yawns

Widowspeak and dB's have a long-standing relationship: on every EU tour the band has done so far - starting with their first show in November 2011 - Utrecht has been on the schedule, and this time is no exception.

Widowspeak's core is formed by the couple Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas. Their seventh studio album Roses comes out in June this year on Captured Tracks. The first two singles are already out and carry the band's familiar signature: Molly's dreamy vocals and Robert's layered guitar work, with echoes of Mazzy Star, Cowboy Junkies, Big Thief and Chris Isaak.

The concert takes place at the new dB's location. Widowspeak brings John Andrews & the Yawns as support. Andrews is known from earlier collaborations with Woods and Quilt; with The Yawns he has built his own sound around piano, wistful melodies and a sunny edge.
