SPKtR

SPKtR is the reincarnation of SPK: pioneers of industrial synthpop and the first band to be banned from England for welding on stage.

SPK emerged in 1978 from a friendship between Australian housemates Graeme Revell and Neil Hill. Beyond sharing a house, they shared a fascination with the German radical-Marxist group das Sozialistisches Patientenkollektiv - SPK for short. Inspired by Kraftwerk, Can, Neu!, Faust and John Cage, they forged their own sound: cold, grim and industrial in the most literal sense. On stage, SPK processed scrap metal, oil drums and heavy machinery. In 1988 they called it quits, after which Revell built a career as a composer for film and video game scores.

Now, 38 years later, he is back - not as a reunion act, but as a new entity with a modernized sound. His son Robert joined the band. On 3 December they perform at De Helling in Utrecht.
