Marcel Riesco is an internationally acclaimed singer in the rock-'n-roll and rockabilly circuit. His voice is often compared to that of a young Roy Orbison, and has taken him to festivals worldwide. His music is rooted in 1950s rock-'n-roll, with clear influences from Sun Records.
Beyond the stage, Riesco is also an authority on Roy Orbison. Since the early 1990s he has researched Orbison's life and work, contributing to official projects: the DVDs Greatest Hits and Live in Australia, the official online biography, and the book The Authorized Roy Orbison (2017). Riesco himself: "I learned to sing with Roy Orbison's songs. He has always been my teacher, so that influence is naturally present."
The Ray Allen Band opens the evening with their own set and then accompanies Riesco. Mischief! also takes the stage - it has been a while since they were seen at dB's. DJ Hugo provides the records.
