The Zenith Passage are an American technical death metal band from Los Angeles, founded in 2012 by guitarist and composer Justin McKinney. Known for blistering riffs, intricate time signatures and science-themed lyrics, they broke through with their debut 'Solipsist' (2016) on Unique Leader Records. Their second album 'Datalysium' (2023), released via Metal Blade Records, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top New Artists Albums chart. The current lineup pairs McKinney with vocalist Derek Rydquist, bassist Brandon Giffin (both ex-The Faceless) and drummer Max Sepulveda.
The Zenith Passage released their new single 'Fleshbound Reliquary', produced by Dave Otero - their first new material since 2023.
The band toured North America as support for Entheos, alongside Fallujah and Tracheotomy.
Max Sepulveda was officially announced as the band's permanent drummer, after previously performing as a fill-in.
The Zenith Passage made their European debut as support for Aborted on the 'Slashing Europe' tour, with shows in Tilburg and Haarlem, among others.
'Datalysium' was released via Metal Blade Records and debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top New Artists Albums chart.
