About

Spain is an American band from Los Angeles, founded in 1993 by singer-bassist Josh Haden, son of jazz legend Charlie Haden. Their sparse, melancholic sound weaves together jazz, blues, and folk with the deliberate pace of slowcore. Their debut album 'The Blue Moods of Spain' (1995) is considered a cornerstone of the genre - its track 'Spiritual' was covered by Johnny Cash the following year. Over three decades the band has released seven studio albums and toured Europe repeatedly, including the Netherlands.
