Gia Margaret + support: Resavoir
American singer-songwriter Gia Margaret performs at the Jacobikerk with Resavoir opening the show.
Resavoir is the project of Chicago trumpeter, composer and producer Will Miller, trained at the Oberlin Conservatory. He gathers a rotating cast of Chicago musicians to make instrumental music that weaves together jazz, soul, ambient and hip-hop production. The 2019 debut album scored an 8.2 on Pitchfork and appeared on year-end lists from NPR Music, Bandcamp and BBC 6 Music's Gilles Peterson. The project has since grown from an intimate bedroom-jazz experiment into Orchestra Resavoir, an 18-piece ensemble.
Resavoir announced the new album 'Above the Clouds', which will be released on October 9, 2026 via L'Univers - the most electronic work of the project to date.
Orchestra Resavoir performed in August 2026 at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, Chicago, as part of the Summer Music Series.
Resavoir released 'Themes for Dreams', a largely drum-less ambient album of thirteen short pieces.
Resavoir & Matt Gold released the collaborative album 'Horizon' on International Anthem, inspired by Brazilian jazz and MPB from the sixties and seventies.
Resavoir closed out 2024 with a large-scale performance at Thalia Hall, Chicago, under the name Orchestra Resavoir - Miller arranged his compositions for an eighteen-member philharmonic ensemble.
