Poets of the Fall is a Finnish rock band from Helsinki, formed in 2003 by vocalist Marko Saaresto, guitarist Olli Tukiainen and keyboardist/producer Markus 'Captain' Kaarlonen. They first reached international audiences through 'Late Goodbye', the theme song for the video game Max Payne 2, and went on to top the Finnish album charts with each of their first four studio records. Their blend of melodic rock, cinematic arrangements and literary lyrics has earned them two Emma Awards and the Best Finnish Act prize at the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards.
