Improvisation duo Michael Moore and Ziv Taubenfeld perform their compositions and open improvisations. A rare Amsterdam show now that Ziv is based in Lisbon.
Michael Moore (born 1954 in Eureka, California) is an American alto saxophonist, clarinetist and composer who has made Amsterdam his home since 1982. Trained at the New England Conservatory under Jaki Byard and Gunther Schuller, he became a central figure in European improvised music through his long membership of the ICP Orchestra, his leadership of Available Jelly and the Clusone Trio, and his teaching at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He releases his own projects on the Ramboy label, and his playing and writing appear on more than a hundred recordings.
Moore released the album Listen! on his label Ramboy, recorded with the Universe Quartet at Splendor Amsterdam.
Moore performed as a special guest with the Artchipel Orchestra during the JAZZMI festival in Milan, in a concert dedicated to Misha Mengelberg.
The album The Voice is the Matter was released on Ramboy.
Moore celebrated his seventieth birthday with a new seven-piece ensemble at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam.
