ANÚNA - On a Cold Winter's Night
The Irish choir ANÚNA performs a Christmas concert of multi-part singing, traditional Irish vocal music and seasonal songs, conducted by composer Michael McGlynn.
Michael McGlynn (Dublin, 1964) is an Irish composer, choral director and filmmaker who founded the vocal ensemble ANÚNA in 1987 as the primary vehicle for his compositions. His musical language weaves medieval polyphony, Irish traditional melody and contemporary harmony into a style instantly recognisable as his own. ANÚNA gained international recognition through its involvement with Riverdance in 1994 and is regarded as Ireland's national choir. Alongside ANÚNA, McGlynn leads the ensembles M'ANAM and Systir - collectively known as the ANÚNA Collective - and has directed several feature-length films about his music.
McGlynn released the single 'Crucifixus' in March 2026 via ANÚNA.
In February 2026, the ep 'Miserere Mei Deus' appeared with Charlotte Richardson, Lucy Champion and Rory Musgrave.
On 25 November 2025, ANÚNA released the album 'Transcendence', a remastered collection of McGlynn's spiritual compositions.
On 20 November 2025, 'Tochairm' appeared, a compilation of nearly thirty years of recordings that brings together McGlynn's transcendent compositions.
In February 2025, ANÚNA released 'Eilífð', an album recorded in Iceland.
