The Mehmet Polat Quartet brings together musicians from different traditions around the oud playing of Dutch-Turkish composer and improviser Mehmet Polat. The music weaves global influences into contemporary jazz, built on bold improvisation and rhythmic grooves that shift fluidly between simple and complex odd time signatures.
