About

Marc van Roon (The Hague, 1967) is a Dutch jazz pianist who trained at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague before completing postgraduate studies in New York with Barry Harris, Richie Beirach and Kenny Werner. Back in the Netherlands from 1993, he built a career as a performer, composer for dance companies, conservatory teacher and long-standing pianist in Tineke Postma's quartet. With the European Jazz Trio he recorded more than 26 albums and performed at venues ranging from the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam to Suntory Hall in Tokyo.

    Van Roon performed a duo concert with alto saxophonist and clarinetist Michael Moore at Splendor Amsterdam on December 10, 2024.
