Tineke Postma (born 1978, Heerenveen) is a Dutch jazz saxophonist and composer who has toured internationally as a bandleader and collaborator since 2003. Trained at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Manhattan School of Music, she has worked alongside Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and Esperanza Spalding, among others. Her ninth album VOYA (2025) earned her a second Edison Award, adding to a career that already includes the Buma Boy Edgar Prize and the Académie du Jazz's European Musician of the Year.
The Conservatorium van Amsterdam announced that Tineke Postma will join the saxophone main subject section at the jazz department from the 2026-2027 academic year.
Her ninth album VOYA, with singer Theo Bleckmann, was released on 14 November 2025 via the label Clap Your Hands.
On 7 October 2024, Tineke Postma received an Edison Award in the national category for her album Aria.
Since September 2024, Tineke Postma has strengthened the jazz department of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague as a saxophone teacher.
At the personal request of Wayne Shorter, Tineke Postma took over his role in June 2023 in performances of his symphonic works Gaia, Orbits and Iphigenia, together with Esperanza Spalding and the Polish National Philharmonic Orchestra.
