Minorie presents: Katya Shirshkova (RU/FR) + Tomáš Niesner (CZ)
Minorie hosts an evening blending folk and experimental music with Russian-French vocalist Katya Shirshkova and Czech guitarist Tomáš Niesner.
Katya Shirshkova is a Russian-French vocalist, composer and performance artist, born in Siberia (Irkutsk) and based in Bourges, France. Working at the intersection of experimental music, sound art and folk tradition, she uses only her voice and a looper to build layered polyphonic textures that achieve a synthetic quality through purely acoustic means. Her work has been presented at venues including Les Instants Chavirés (Paris), La Gaîté Lyrique (Paris) and the Musée Estève (Bourges), and she teaches at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Art de Bourges.
Shirshkova released the album 'Périodique des Chemins Boueux / Herbes Étincelles' together with Roxane Métayer and Sara Eelen on the Belgian label Edições CN.
Shirshkova performed for the first time in the Netherlands at OCCII Amsterdam as part of Minorie Presents.
The collaborative album 'Résiste! | Paysages fragmentés' with Yurii Kuznetsov was released on April 3, 2026 via the label Wabi-Sabi Tapes.
Shirshkova was on the program of Pilar (Brussels) alongside Martha Skye Murphy, Gibrana Cervantes and Roxane Métayer.
The split LP 'Le Héron / A Reunião' with David Maranha was released on February 15, 2025 via the Greek label Stellage, mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi.
