Franz is a 2016 French drama film directed by François Ozon, set in the aftermath of World War One. A young German woman mourning her fiancé encounters a mysterious Frenchman at his grave, and the story slowly unravels the secrets he carries. Shot largely in black and white, the film is based on Maurice Rostand's play L'Homme que j'ai tué.
