Dimmu Borgir are a Norwegian symphonic black metal band formed in Oslo in 1993, known for fusing heavy guitars with orchestral arrangements and choral parts to create a distinctly epic sound. Albums such as Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (1997) and Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia (2001) established them as one of the genre's most recognisable acts. In May 2026 they released their tenth studio album Grand Serpent Rising on Nuclear Blast, their first new record in eight years.
