About

Alexander Kashpurin (born 1996 in Volzhsky) is a Russian-Israeli pianist and conductor who trained at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg, graduating summa cum laude in 2019. In January 2026 he won both the first prize and the audience award at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht - as a last-minute substitute who had barely a month to prepare. He founded the Infinitum Chamber Orchestra in 2022 and serves as musical director of Replica Theatre in St. Petersburg. His Meta Opus concert programmes, which weave works from different eras around a single unifying idea, are a defining feature of his artistic identity.
