A Tribe Called Quest is a hip-hop group from New York, formed in 1985 by Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White. They are widely regarded as one of the defining acts of hip-hop's golden age, blending jazz samples with sharp, socially aware lyricism. Their 1991 album The Low End Theory is considered a landmark record in the genre.
