About the venue

W139 is an independent, artist-run art space on the Warmoesstraat in central Amsterdam, founded in 1979. One of the oldest of its kind in the Netherlands, it presents contemporary visual art, performances and experimental projects with a deliberately non-commercial outlook. The programme regularly champions emerging and international artists working outside the mainstream.
