The KIT Royal Tropical Institute occupies a grand early-twentieth-century listed building on Mauritskade in Amsterdam. Originally built to house a colonial knowledge institute, it now focuses on international development and health. Its ornate halls and meeting rooms are regularly hired out for conferences, congresses and cultural events.
