Kasteel Amerongen is a 17th-century castle in the village of Amerongen, on the banks of the Rhine in Utrecht province. The current building was largely rebuilt after French troops razed it in 1672. Today it functions as a museum, with well-preserved historic interiors, family portraits and silverware on display. The castle also hosts cultural events and guided tours throughout the year.
