About the venue

De Mesdag Collectie in The Hague is the former home and studio of painter Hendrik Willem Mesdag, preserved almost exactly as he left it. The collection focuses on 19th-century French and Dutch painting, with strong representation of the Hague School and the Barbizon school - all displayed in the intimate rooms where Mesdag himself lived and worked.
